Call 911 first

In any emergency in Mexico, call 911. It is the number for police, ambulance and fire service, and it is the one the U.S. Embassy tells travelers to use.

Print this page and keep it with your passport. Mobile coverage is spotty in rural areas, so write down the address of where you are staying before you need it.

Medical care near Creel

These are the facilities listed for Creel and the two nearest hospitals in Mexico's official catalog of health facilities (CLUES), July 2026 edition. For an emergency, call 911 for an ambulance rather than driving yourself.

"First level" means primary care: consultations and basic treatment. "Second level" is a hospital. From abroad, add +52 before these ten-digit numbers.

Red Cross and civil protection

For an emergency in progress, call 911 first: it dispatches ambulances, police and firefighters.

On the road: the Green Angels

Call 078 for the Green Angels (Ángeles Verdes), the free roadside mechanical-assistance service of Mexico's federal tourism ministry. It answers from 08:00 to 20:00, every day of the year, and the U.S. State Department notes that it gives bilingual help on toll roads and major highways. If someone is hurt, call 911. U.S. citizens: the Embassy and the consulate

The consulate's address is Paseo de la Victoria 3650, Fracc. Partido Senecú, Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. Have the person's name, date of birth and passport number ready when you call. Before you travel, enroll in the State Department's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), as its advisory for Mexico recommends.

On the train
