Google Adsense

Guide by email

Section added on September 16, 2026. It describes a new feature and does not change the text above.

On each guide you can ask us to send that guide to your email address. When you do:

  • We use your address once, to send that one guide. We don't store it on our servers, we don't add it to any mailing list and we don't use it for anything else. Our server does not write it to its logs.
  • The email is delivered by Resend, an email service based in the United States. Resend receives your address to deliver the message and keeps a record of the delivery under its own privacy policy.
  • To stop the form from being misused, our server keeps a one-way fingerprint of your connection for a few minutes, and Resend receives a one-way fingerprint of your address, the guide and the date, so the same guide isn't sent twice to the same address on the same day. Neither fingerprint contains your address as written.
  • The email contains the guide's affiliate links (Booking.com, Civitatis), marked as such, like the guide on the site. See our disclaimer.
  • You won't receive anything else from us because of this request. If you want us to confirm what happened with a request, write to us at the address above.

What we actually run, as of September 18, 2026

The sections above were written for the earlier version of this site and are kept as they were. This note says what is true today, after the site moved to its new platform:

  • We use Google Analytics 4 (property `G-ZCTW5MVJ4Z`, the same one this site has used for years) to count visits and see which pages people read. It sets cookies and sends Google an IP address and page data. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
  • We are not serving Google AdSense right now. The "Advertising" and "Google Adsense" sections above describe how ads would work if we run them again; today no advertising cookies are set by us.
  • We do not use Google Tag Manager on this version of the site.
  • Affiliate links (Booking.com, Civitatis and World Nomads) are marked wherever they appear. Following one takes you to that company's site, which sets its own cookies under its own policy. See our disclaimer.

If we start serving ads again, this note gets updated on the same day.
